Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης: Digital Media – Computational Intelligence (Ψηφιακά Μέσα – Υπολογιστική Νοημοσύνη) (2025-2026)

The Department of Informatics at the Aristotle University Thessaloniki (A.U.Th) announces that the Master's Program (MSc.) in "Digital Media - Computational Intelligence" will be offered during the academic year 2025-2026.

Interested candidates are invited to submit application to be admitted to the MSc. Program:

  1. Graduates of Computer Science Department or Faculty of Engineering, or other Departments in a discipline related to Computer Science of Universities from abroad. That is, a degree (or an international equivalent) is required in computer science or electrical and computer engineering or a numerate physical science discipline.
  2. Students of undergraduate programs from Departments of case 1, who are in the last semester of their studies and are expected to obtain their degree until the end of the period registrations at the MSc. program

The number of admissions to the MSc. program in "Digital Media-Computational Intelligence" the academic year 2025-2026 is set to thirty (30) postgraduates students
maximum.

Classes start in October 2025 and are held weakly between Monday and Friday, in the afternoon.

Required supporting documents:

  1. Application (electronic, accessible from the web page of the MSc. program)
  2. CV,
  3. Copy of degree or diploma,
  4. Certificate of academic recognition of the degree by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (Hellenic NARIC) https://www.doatap.gr/home_english/ (when required),
  5. Copies of recognized postgraduate study titles (if any),
  6. Transcript of undergraduate and/or postgraduate course grades,
  7. Diploma thesis grading (if applicable),
  8. Certificate of good knowledge of English (level B2),
  9. Publications and writing activities (if any),
  10. Any evidence of professional or research experience (duration and subject)
  11. Two (2) names of faculty members or employers with contact details who are willing to provide reference letters for the candidate.
  12. Photocopy of ID or Passport,
  13. ID/Passport type photograph.

Related courses to the MSc. program: Signals-Systems, Stochastic Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition, Digital Signal Processing, Graphics, Digital Image Processing, Neural Networks-Deep Learning.

The criteria of the selection of candidates to be admitted to the MSc program are grouped into five parameters. Each parameter is rated in the scale 0-10 and the individual evaluations are weighed with coefficients to score the candidates’ applications as follows.

a. The Grade Point Average (GPA) of the degree, the type of degree and the quality of the transcript with respect to the performance in the related courses to the MSc. program with a weighting factor of 40%. The minimum grade of the degree/diploma or first cycle must be at least equal to six (6) in the scale 0-10 (or equivalent if other grading scale applies).
b. The success in the personal interview, or evaluation of candidate’s CV and the graduation order among his/her fellow classmates with weighting factor 20%.
c. Any publications with a weighting factor 20%.
d. Proficiency in English above B2 or proficiency in other languages with a weighting factor 10%
e. The general research or professional activity with a weighting coefficient 10%

Prospective students of undergraduate programs, who are in the last semester of their studies and are expected to obtain their degree within of September 2025, submit a certificate of studies instead of a copy of the degree with a transcript. The finalization of the registration of such candidates to the MSc. Program will be concluded after the
submission of their degree.

The applications are submitted electronically via https://eforms.auth.gr/csd-dmci-msc until 28/2/2025. Foreign applicants are urged to submit their application by 28/2/2025, so that they have enough time to collect the necessary documents (e.g., visa) until the start of classes.
