The Department of Orthodontics at the School of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in accordance with decision no. 50178 regarding the establishment of the “Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics” and the “Regulation of the Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics,” as published in the Greek Government Gazette (GGG no. 1320/Β’ of 19.03.2025), offers the “Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics” (P.P.O.) for the period 2026-2029. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded a Degree of “Master of Science in Orthodontics.”
According to the "Regulation of the Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics" as published in the Greek Government Gazette (GGG no. 1320/Β’ of 19.03.2025), the language of instruction for the program is English.
The number of postgraduate students to be admitted is six (6). Candidates can be either Greek or non-Greek citizens.
Graduates of Dental Schools from Greek Universities or recognized foreign institutions are eligible to apply to the "Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics." The School of Dentistry performs the recognition of foreign degrees.
The selection of candidates for the Program will be based on evaluating the following criteria (view here).
There will be no written exam. However, knowledge of Orthodontics may be tested orally during the interview, with questions taken from the textbook below, which is used (in its Greek translation) in the undergraduate curriculum of the School of Dentistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. A minimum score of 60% is required for any candidate to be finally admitted to the MSc program.
All applicants must have at least one year of clinical experience in general dentistry. This experience can be proven by a) a license to operate an authorized dental practice along with invoices for services provided, b) a certificate of prior dental experience in the Armed Forces or other public services, or c) a certificate of previous private dental experience with an employment contract, proof of payroll, or invoices for the services provided.
Furthermore, all applicants are required to demonstrate certified proficiency in English at level C2. This can be proven by the certificates listed in Supreme Council of Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) announcements, and the certification must have been obtained prior to submitting the application.
For non-Greek candidates, proof of certified knowledge of the Greek language is required: at least level A1 when submitting the application, and level B2 no later than before the start of the second semester.

The tuition fees for attending the Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics are 6.800€ per semester, totaling 47.600€.
Furthermore, please consider that the postgraduate students admitted to the P.P.O. must purchase their own equipment and instruments needed for their clinical and laboratory training, such as orthodontic pliers, digital cameras, laptops, and so on. A complete list will be provided to students before the program begins.
